When ferroelectric semiconductors are illuminated, they develop a significant photocurrent.
Here, by exploiting the competition between coexisting internal electric fields (imprint, depolarizing and Schottky), we show that both the direction of the photocurrent and its time-dependence can be selectively engineered.
